Do i have to have the petsafe stubborn dog invisible fence system to use the stubborn dog collar?

I was just wondering since our dog isn’t taking well to the normal pet safe fence if i could just get the stubborn dog collar instead of a completely new system. It was a lot of time putting the fence in and it would be easier if i could just get the stubborn dog collar…but i’m not sure it will work.
it s a husky so, i really need an answer and fast.
yes i know huskys are high energy dogs and i do exercise her 2 hours a day if not more…we will go on daily runs, its just she doesn’t want to stay in the yard! lol i have done my research on the breed….just wondering if the stubborn collar will work with the regular fence or not!

Yes, they only work together. Shocking a dig into obedience is NOT the answer, though. Find a good trainer and obedience school for it. The school should actually cost less than the fence.

Why not just teach your dog not to mess with the fence? Leaving a high energy dog outside all the time only makes it bored and you have a husky…a runner…did you know that animal needs at least 2 hours of exercise a day? A yard is not exercise, it’s a jail and your dog wants out! Give him daily runs and plenty to do and he won’t care about that fence. Keep him inside and use the yard for supervised play and he won’t be trying to break out all the time. You can’t just get a dog like that and expect him to be happy being locked up by himself all day.

Most likely you are not going to have much lucky with the stubborn dog system either.
This is a breed that will take the hit from the fence and keep right on going. It could work if their is nothing on the other side of the fence that the dogs sees and wants to go after. If the dog sees something many will run through the fence. Some breeds are just not good with invisible fencing.
Huskies are one of those breeds.

Call the company you bought the fencing from they should have a customer assistance line and they should be able to tell you if the collar from one system will work with another system. It could. If it is possible they can tell you how to link up the new collar to the system.

The Pet Safe brand fence models are on different radio frequencies and are therefore not interchangeable. I have put in several systems for this breed of dog. Most are a challenge and require really good training on the fence. Try to retrain him/her on the leash, refer to your cd which was included in your system for tips. We have had great success with containment.
A dog fence used in conjunction with responsible pet ownership is a safe and effective way for your dog to have freedom in your yard.
    Best of luck to you.
