Training Collar Guide: Pick the training collar that best suits your pet

Do “No Bark Collars” work on Basenjis?

weslee1980 Question : Do “No Bark Collars” work on Basenjis I have a Basenji mix breed that barks and yodels. I would use the collar as a training tool for all I’m at work / he is alone, but I’m not sure if it will work on a Basenji as they have an oddly shaped larynx / vocal cords. It is more prone to high yelps and barks yodels. OTH anyone had experience with this? I understand the feeling about not using the collar, but a slight separation anxiety, and while I was taking time off work to help him, he still yodels / Barks each one. It has a companion dog with him that distracted most of the time and I work on training him, but my question is right or wrong collar work. This is not to wear full-time, as an aid to formation.Meilleure response: Answer

Unless you have been complaints from neighbors, I had to leave the dog alone. Basenji are generally quite calm and “Yodel” when happy. They do not really bark at all, and when they do, this seems strange. I have a friend with a Basenji and it is a calm dog. If you do get one, yes, it works on a Basenji. I just think it’s a waste of money. For chronic barking dogs, so we put. But otherwise, save money for some squeaky toys and chews.

  • Yes, the neck should work as it is an employee training if your dog barks too much, no other underlying problems. If your dog is barking due to separation anxiety, then this issue must be addressed, simply barking Detering will not alleviate the anxiety and fear of your dog knows. Also, please be aware that any anatomical differences between Basenjis and other dogs will not play a role in Detering barking.
