Does the terminator barking collar work?
I do want my dog to bark in the house for protection. The dalmation/shepard mix is 15yrs and my new beach neighbors want the barking to cease. Can he growl? Will it work, and does it hurt. I can’t kepp going everywhere with my dog to stop her bark. Need advice, and where to possibly get one used.

If that is the collar that gives the dog a shock when it barks yes they work and no they cant growl at least not very loud as vibrations in their throat cause the collar to shock them.
As far as getting one used I can only think of e-bay.

ya it works and it just shocks a little bit.. the dog learns eventually so u don’t need the collar for long… buy a new one and then use it then sell it on ebay for a higher price than wat u bought it

These collars are absolutely terrible. They are incredibly cruel to the dog; it is a dog’s natural instinct to bark. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF PUTTING THIS COLLAR ON THE DOG YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY BE PUTTING THE DOG UP FOR ADOPTION; YOU SHOULD NOT OWN A PET.!!!!!!

I can only comment that in the UK the BVA( British Veterinary Association) is looking into getting any form of shock collar banned. There are fears that in the wrong hands the collars could pose a welfare issue and there are concerns that they could induce aggression in some dogs.
I would suggest that you look in to separation anxiety and territorial behavior, both of which can cause excessive barking. You can’t have it both ways. You can train your dog to react to all invasions of his territory or to none of them, not both. You will have an uphill battle with this dog, because at 15years the behavior will be very ingrained.
