  • This is great for food drive dogs, but my current dog is not a food drive. Only one thing worked, but only once, camembert. After the third baby nail piece, he became bored of the same with chicken, meat, etc, and his toys, even new ones are not high enough value to him or when outside. The only way I got it in 5 steps without pulling was correct, full stop, let it sit, wait and continue. It would be nice to have an alternative way for these cases to see.

  • You have a lot of uploaded videos. It would be much easier to find all the ones to pull on the line if you created a playlist or at least connected to them all in the description of each video.

  • What if you have a dog that does not care for treats? I know it sounds unbelievable, but I’m looking for a dog that rarely allows for treats to train. He eats his food, but that’s about it. He felt that he had enough time and does not care for treats. He spits it out or just leave it.

  • Alfie. 3 years old beautiful brown and white male Saluki cross. understands sign language. can not live with other dogs, but is the perfect pet for a family with young children. avalible for adoption from Rosedene rescuce in the West Midlands (.:

  • This ‘absurd’ idea of using food lures really works for every animal on the planet. Your comment is absurd, not using food lures.

  • Fab video. One of the best I’ve seen on here to draw.

  • That is such a cute dog! I want a dog like that, but my mom says i cant have one: (

  • I love this video because you let the dog doing the wrong things when you correct him. Most videos I see people just dogs that have been trained to do what they want to show the video to have.

  • brilliant to hear it was a success! Thank you very much for the positive review 🙂

  • Dear Dogs Trust – thank you for posting this video. I tried the indoor technique last night after watching your video and am approaching him his favorite toy in a quiet way, on his lead, within 20 minutes! Also kept him on a very short leash with his Halti morning on his walk, so he could not pull on me and within 300 meters that he had stopped trying to pull! I’m not saying we cracked it, but what a difference! Definitely an overnight success, literally!

  • I’m going to try this with our well behaved differently, one year old German Shepherd. We have everything cracked, apart from walking on the line.

  • So I have to walk around with a bag of dog biscuits? Using treats to train a dog is absurd.

  • fucked

  • I like this way of “not tug on the leash.” I would combine it with the “quick turn and go the other way” method,

  • Lolz at 0:48

  • wow you’re a valued pussy, she gives free videos of the proper technique and training and what do you … whining and klagen.U’re the lowest of the youtube skumbags.

  • Try doing a video with a dog that is not already trained, wheres the skill in this vid?

  • Thanks for the comments 🙂

  • Thanks for your reply. This video is to show how to get a dog to stop pulling on the leash training. Digby and Carolyn were to illustrate the methods and steps to take, and not specifically train Digby. I certainly understand what you mean, but Digby is already fully trained and was probably a little tired of filming! 🙂

  • very well made videos! However, I am right in saying that your dog is barking for toys and food? and you reward him for that behavior? (Just a thought) … it seems like the dog is frustrated by the non-reward and is confused about what you are doing ….

  • Ths is the best I’ve ever seen. I use your method for meeting and lots of other things as well and it works great! Thanks for sharing this. Much appreciated!
