Hand signals are easier, my dog only really reponds to vocal commands if you use hand signals too,but he can do hand signals alone. It’s easier for dogs with physical activity.

But why do we need hand signals when we already use command?

You can start teaching your pup right away. Using psoitive reinforcement you can start training at a very early age. I have some puppy training videos that you can watch. Type eletendre1 into the search bar and you can view all the dog training videos.
Good luck with your new puppy.

Here’s a couple of suggesstions. Small dogs can be fussier about working for treats, so make sure you have a treat that really, really motivates them. Try cheese, liver treats, hot dogs, chicken pieces, whatever they go crazy for.
Next, try putting them up on a table when you are working with them. They will be closer to you and it will be much easier for you to use your body language and hand signals in a way they can easily understand then when you have to bend way down to reach them.

Sorry about that. To use the hand signal for stand, just move your hand and arm back past your thigh with your palm facing your dog.

videoangel, morkies need some special training. Smaller dogs should be trained differently then large dogs.
