Have you tried Don Sullivan's ("dogfather") "Perfect Dog" training system, & what did you think?
I watched the infomercial about this product & it sounds intriguing (but then everything does on an infomercial). It has some kind of collar (not a shock collar) & training leads, & of course books & DVD’s. But nowhere, on there website or on TV, can I find out how this thing actually works.
Before I consider ordering, I wanted to find out if anyone else has tried it. How does it work? Did it work for you? What kind of dog did you use it with? Did you have any problems with it?
Or is it a piece of junk?
Thanks!

Junk.
How about a tried and true method that has been used for decades and on thousand upon thousands of dogs.
Something that is not a fad. Something that works on all breeds of dogs.
No gimmicks, no fad.
You can buy the book on Amazon used for a few dollars.
It is called the Koehler Method of Dog training.
To learn more about it visit http://www.koehlerdogtraining.com
This is an easy step by step method. Again no gimmicks no special products.
I have trained dogs with this method. I have happy, reliable dogs, who are a pleasure to be around. I also compete and win with them in obedience.
From the IACP Hall of Fame- about Bill Koehler
William R. (Bill) Koehler dog trainer
A teacher, trainer and author who worked as the Chief Trainer for Walt Disney Studios for more than 20 years, Bill still managed to find the time to write six books and act as Chief Trainer for the Orange Empire Dog Club. His list of accomplishments in the field of dog training are too numerous to list here. It is worthwhile to note that his Koehler Method of Guard Dog Training was named Best Dog Book for the Year of 1967 by the Dog Writers’ Association of America.
Of interest is the method of dog training he developed over the course of many years. The Koehler Method of Dog Training has been praised, championed, vilified and in some cases damned. When you excel you are actually sticking your head up high enough to get shot. Only if you are truly excellent will the shots all miss and leave you standing straight and tall above the masses. That was Bill Koehler. Quiet, unassuming, soft spoken and gentle of hand, Bill gave us a way to train dogs while at the same time honoring their very dog-ness. The Koehler Method of Dog Training is just as valid and useful in the Twenty-first century as it was in the Twentieth century and we suspect it will continue to have just as much meaning for as long as we have dogs to train

There is little better than a steady, patient temperament and persistent hard work, I doubt there is a quick and easy fix to dog training.
