You can also get my FREE ebook “101 Ways To Improve Your Dog’s Behavior” at www.amazingdogtrainingman.com This video was made at the request of a citizen of Denmark. I was sent an email asking to do a video addressing the myths around Pit Bulls as Denmark is getting ready to ban them.

  • @Lionchild1978 When Corgis start mauling and killing and there is video documentation of the event instead of the notorious nipping Corgis are known for, then it will be comparable. Until then, video documentation of the event is not “A BAD RAP” ,It is merely EVIDENCE. All pitbull owners keep chanting the same mantra”ITS A BAD RAP”. No, it’s a video and it does not lie.

  • @Xcorgi How would you like it if the media only focused its attention on giving your breed of dog a bad rap based on a few reports? or if the Breed specific legislation tried to ban your dog? Don’t believe everything you see on TV. Instead, try to educate yourself on this breed further before assuming the worst. Pit bulls are not the first ones to fall victim to the media, in previous decades they were focused on giving German Shepherds and Rottweilers a bad rap.

  • @Xcorgi Please stop referring to pit bulls as monsters. Not to repeat myself, but I never said that there have not been attacks by Pit bulls, but what I’m trying to tell you is that they are the most misunderstood dogs in the world. As far as Pit bulls and children go, they are known as the “Nannie dogs since they have such a good temperament with children. You’re a perfect example of the effect of what the media tries to portray about Pit bulls.

  • @Lionchild1978 Where are your stats to support your point that NO ONE get mauled by these monsters? This guy in the video even admits that some dogs have a prey drive stonger than others. WELL………he just described the pitbull perfectly. No other breed has a prey/murder drive stronger than the pitbull hence the greater the risk of even having a pitbull in a neighborhood around children.

  • @Xcorgi Do you have actual statistics of these thousands of attacks? Yes, there have been incidents involving Pit bulls attacking dogs or people, but to say that there are thousands of children mauled in hospitals by pit bulls is absolutely false and only aids in discriminating against all pit bulls. That’s just like saying sports cars are dangerous. Well no, some sports car drivers are dangerous, that doesn’t mean we should ban sports cars. Your comments effect all Pit bulls and their owners.

  • You guys out there who want to say these dogs arent violent better not tell the thousands of mauled children in the hospital that, because…………they’re really dedicated to the lie (not)………..(that they are)!

  • @Lionchild1978 Just take a look at some of the videos on YouTube where the owners have been killed by their own pitbulls. These owners did NOT mis-treat these dogs. In fact they say the same things that you say. “ONLY OWNERS WHO MIS-TREAT THEM GET ATTACKED.” Guess what, these dogs do NOT need to be provoked for a full on blood lust kill. The actual body count is NOT a “bad rap” It’s a statistical fact.

  • @Xcorgi I urge you to meet a Pit bull who has responsible owners and see for yourself. I know your opinion will change. I’m also not saying that Pit bull owners are the only irresponsible ones, but when a chihuahua is vicious, he can’t really do much damage but bark, not the same with Pit bulls. Unfortunately in the case of Pit bulls and their bad rap, once again it’s human error.

  • @Xcorgi I respectfully disagree. As mentioned in the video at 2:23, the main problem with Pit Bulls are some of the owners, who don’t treat the dog with the love and care it deserves, instead they encourage it to be vicious.

  • Say what you will but a good 95% of cases where innocent bystanders including children are on their on their own property or where they are walking thier own dogs on public sidewalks, this is where they are attacked by a pitbull runs from the accross the street even when fenced in. These may be great pets for the owners but they viciously attack strangers unprovoked.

  • Good video. I won’t own any other breed. BTW the Maltese needs a haircut

  • wow very clever explanation of prong collars and training out of agression signs!…never even thought of it like that!

  • is a boy pitbull nicer than a girl or the other way around

  • so true! my rotty plays with our chuwawa’s and they wag their tails. she’s great with our cats too! POSITIVE RIENFORCMENT!!! they need it.

  • We reversed the BSL in Livingston County, MI!

  • you know what your talking about nice video, unfortunatly most people dont educate themself, dont know what they are talking about and get a pitbull very impulsively and maybe even from some backyard breeder or a pet shop, thats whats happening here in Holland allot since they are allowed again.

  • Wrong

  • You don’t know what you’re talking about. APBTs are in a different working class than BCs or LRs; also, APBTs are well known for their amazing ability to ESCAPE from a variety of enclosures. Please educate yourself on a topic before making an ignorant comment. We thank you.

  • Check out my video response, my Pit Bull is pretty smart…

  • I know tons of people that are hateful towards pits, they say they are a bad breed. my boyfriend and I love them! And when I saw this, I nearly cried. I posted it on my facebook because people need to see this video! Thank you for making this!

  • One thing I do disagree with you on is pit bulls being highly intelligent. That’s not true, at all, of every pit bull I’ve ever known. They aren’t the dumbest breed, by far, but they aren’t nearly in the same league as a Golden Retriever,or Boarder Collie either. Just for example, unlike my fat ass lab who figured out how to open the fridge (we had to put child safety locks on it) and get into food, my pit hasn’t even figured out she can jump on counters. She just stares up at the food, barking.

  • What you said about smaller breeds is SO TRUE! Every single dog, with only one exception, that has ever tried to attack me was some spazzy little ankle bitter. The one large dog that bit me was my mom’s pure bred collie. I’m probably the only person on Earth that’s been attacked by a collie.

Small dogs can frequently be little assholes though.

  • Is this why you stay anonymous?
I do not content myself with only one method and I am opened to all methods and I have done my research. Show yourself if you are SOooooo good. End of discussion.

  • Do a little research on behaviorism. You start with positive reinforcement (something the dog really, really likes) then you switch to intermittant reinforcement, then you fase out to only occasional reinforcement. It works with people and it works with dogs.
Do some research. Make up your own mind about what will work best for you and your dog. My dog requires no shocking, choking, or spanking. She comes EVERY time I call her. Even when there are ducks to chase.

  • Whos is aying you need to punish here? YOU not me. My dog is not fearfu and she loves playing. no treats. Have fun with your dog, no treats, this is my way. Read about the concept of showing your dog to decide to stop a tiny minor discomfort by obeying and then reward his good behavior and tell me where you see punishment in there.

  • Really interesting! Most people are so intrigued by pit bulls but actually know very little about them. Thanks!
