GG asked:

1.Training is not effective for Barking Dogs – Barking for dogs is oral communication. There are underlying causes. Training helps the owners understand their dog better. Training alleviates the issue behind dog barking thus giving the neighbor his peace.

2.Using shock collars is cruel as they cause huge electric shocks to my dog – I doubt anyone would be so inhumane that they let a device causing electric shock be used on his dogs. But the point is the so called shock collars do not exactly give them a shock which causes them pain or even discomfort. It probably just surprises them into paying attention.Studies have shown that these are far less than the jolt produced by cattle prod which is a used training equipment. These collar also come with sprays which startle the dog to stop barking. The results produced are also staggeringly effective.

3.Excessive barking is due to bad breeding – I agree that breeding dogs exclusively for the purpose of making them watch dogs is done and that these dogs are meant to bark however excessive barking is a learned habit. Your dog is probably barking to convey something you probably do not understand.

4.Barking Dogs do not Bite – It is a myth alright. Do not be misguided. Aggressiveness is a tendency which causes the dogs to bark and the same may aggravate them to bite too. Be careful especially around strange dogs.

5.Only Barking dogs are good watch dogs – I agree watch dogs need to bark to alert us about intruders however it has been known that the ideal watchdog does not bark too loudly or insistently. In fact it does not have the aggressive qualities of biting or barking excessively at all.

6.Strelize your dog to comepletely stop dog barking – Spaying and Neutering a dog only reduces the barking of a dog in heat. It does not remove the underlying cause of dog barking.

7.Dogs bark because they long for the company of a dog – One of the causes of dog barking sure is Attention Seeking. However, not in all cases does another dog cure barking. In fact, if the cause of barking is any form of aggression, it can increase the barking and aggressive behavior further.

To know more about barking and to read about a new EBook “Secrets To Control Dog Barking-Revealed!”, exclusively about Dog Barking with simple and effective method to control dog barking, visit our site at www.controldogbarking.com

Janise

Al Bullington asked:

Barking dog collars are useful to help you train your dog to control excess barking. All dogs bark. It’s just a way of communication. And all barking is not bad. The bad part is excessive barking and barking at the wrong time, like at night. But a dog barking collar is best used in combination with other types of training.

Before you get a dog barking collar, spend some time observing your dog to try to understand why all the barking. It may be a simple matter to stop the barking without the expense and trouble of a collar. And remember that in most cases the dog collar will only stop the barking while it is on the dog. Dogs are smart. Take the collar off and the barking starts back.

If you choose to get a dog bark collar, you can choose from three types.

The citronella collar is preferred by many. It works by spraying citronella oil near the dog’s nose when the barking starts. The stinky oil stops most dogs from barking without harming the dog. Some dogs keep barking, but not many.

Another control collar is an ultrasonic collar. These devices emit ultrasonic sounds when barking starts. It’s irritating to dogs but not to people. This works with most dogs but not all.

The final category of dog training collars is the electronic shock collar. Barking sets off an electrical jolt that only stops when the barking stops. Most dogs quickly learn to stop barking, but usually only works while the collar is on. Dogs learn quickly that no shock happens when the collar is off. Also, many dogs become fearful and crazy when subjected to shocks. Do you blame them? Many people see these as cruel. Since the citronella collars seem to work as well or better, citronella collars are a better choice.

Morris

Vic Lee asked:

Is your dog barking uncontrollably? Many dog owners get worried or annoyed by chronic dog barking and don’t know how to keep their dog from barking and disturbing the neighbors.

One of the most common ways to stop excessive dog barking is with a No Bark Dog Collar. However this should not be your first option.

A dog naturally barks as a way to warn you or when something or someone is invading its territory.

The first step you must take is to find out what or why your dog is barking. For example your dog may be barking at a neighbor’s cat or the shadow of a tree moving with the wind or in worst cases it can be someone trespassing into your property.

However, using a no bark dog collar is a good choice to help your dog stop barking and unnecessary things that do not pose a threat.

How Does a No Bark Dog Collar Work?

This collar is placed on your dogs neck, just like any other collar except when your dog barks a gentle electric simulation is sent which can be controlled by a remote. Your dog will start to understand that every time it barks an uncomfortable electric current is sent and therefore will stop barking.

Using a no bark collar is an okay choice, but should not be your first choice when trying to help your dog to stop barking. Remember that barking is natural to your dog and you will not and should not eliminate it completely as it is a way to warn you and others of any dangers or threats.

Make sure the collar you buy for your dog is right for your dogs size and check with a dog trainer or vet to make sure the a no bark dog collar is the best solution for you and your dog.

Katharina
