Which barking collar is the best?
What types of barking collars are there, which one works the best to stop barking, and please tell me your experience with one (if any). Thank you.

Well, I have shelties, which are the champion barkers of the dog world. Most of my friends have shelties, and barking is a perennial problem.
Don’t use a collar that gives a shock when activated by noise. These can be activated by *other* dogs barking and the poor dog wearing it gets a shock for doing nothing!
I know a lot of people who’ve tried citronella collars, and they work fine *when the collar is on*. When the collar comes off, the dog barks again.
I’m really skeptical about the usefulness of bark collars. I did get one to tr once, but since my dogs are quite small I couldn’t even find one small enough, which was probably just as well. The idea of giving a dog an electric shock for unacceptable behavior just doesn’t set well with me.
One thing you do *not* want to do for barking is yell at the dog. They just think you’re joining in on the fun. It is totally useless as a deterrent. Shaking a can full of bolts or pennies is a lot more effective.
What I do is get right in the dog’s face, grasp their muzzle in one hand, and in a low, growly voice, say, "NO BARK!" It shuts them up for a little while anyway.
Some people say to teach the dog to bark on command, then you can put a name to the action so the dog doesn’t do it on their own. I’m skeptical about this as well!

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but honestly, training is the best method to deal with nuisance barking. A dog needs to bark sometime, like a human needs to talk, but sometimes are not appropriate- it’s what they do.

i just ordered the spray collar for my large pom heard it works great http://www.discount-pet-superstore.com/bark_control_collars/Spray_Bark_Control_Collar.htm that ones for small dogs.
