  • There are collars that spray a harmless substance at your dog when he barks. Be aware that if you use a collar to train your dog not to bark, that is his way of alerting you to danger, and you will train him not to do that. Therefore, he may not alert you to an intruder in your house or yard, or imminent danger and the like. Think about this before you train his natural ways out of him.

  • there is no brand that is the best. they are inhumaine, and they hurt. Try putting one around your neck and make a noise and see what happens to you. If you have a barking problem, try putting some rocks in a tin can and taping the end shut. When your dog barks shake it and tell him NO! The noise will distract him and make it so he will hear your command. My Llhasa Apso was like this until I tried it last week. Now the mailman thinks we got rid of him. Please don’t hurt your dog

  • If you are going to get one of those collars, get the kind that makes noise as opposed to the kind that shocks. The noise distracts them without hurting them.

We used the Pet-Safe sonic collar for my parent’s dogs and it worked wonders.
